Are you constantly dodging the sugar that your child comes in contact with in a day? When shopping at several stores in one day your children are being offered candy like it’s Trick-or-Treat.
Add in the pool or locations where you are not allowed to bring your own food, the snack bar is nothing but over processed junk food. Until they start serving healthier options, my pool bag will always have snacks hidden in the bottom.
In an effort to still allow for treats, I crowd out all those sugary options with nutritional versions of store brand favorites. This is a new favorite recipe that is sweet, cold, and packed with nutrients. It is a perfect cold treat on a hot day or after the pool.
Homemade Italian Ice
1 cup Ningxia Red
1 cup pure grape juice
Juice and zest of 1 lemon
6 drops orange vitality
Mix and pour into 6 small paper cups. Add berries of your choice and freeze. Enjoy and be revitalized on a hot summer day.
