The Importance of Consuming Organ Meat

Ditch all artificially derived, overpriced supplements for nature's supplement. Cells need building blocks to properly replicate. Our body is constantly renewing itself and if we do not have the right micro and macro nutrients to replicate we end up with dis-ease in our body.

۞Essential Amino Acids like tryptophan, lysine, arginine, theonine

۞Essential Fatty Acids Omegas 3, 6, & 9

۞Fat Soluble Vitamins A,D, E, and K

۞Water Soluble Vitamins C and B’s, folic acid, biotin

۞Trace Minerals such as zinc, iron, iodine, copper, manganese, chromium, selenium

The market size of the food supplement industry is increasing at an annual rate of 8.2% due to people paying more attention to their nutrition.  The world’s dietary supplements market will reach around $220 billion in revenue by 2022, from the $124.8 billion in 2018

I scratch my head and wonder,  how did our ancestors care for their nutrition before there were supplements?

Organ meat!

They ate the organ meat before they ate the muscle meat. Organs were the sacred food. Especially for newly married couples to ensure fertility.

Liver is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available to us because of its diverse micronutrient profile. Liver provides the building blocks to support many functions in the body and contains all of the above vitamins, minerals, and amino acids for healthy cell replication.

Not on board with throwing down raw liver with me like I shared in my Instagram stories this week? Start by adding it to ground beef or eating liver pate a few times a week.

Another option is to take Desiccated Beef Liver supplements. Two reputable companies are Ancestral Supplements and Perfect Supplements.

Desiccated means “dried out.” This is a  gentle freeze-drying method to turn raw liver or other organ meat into powder capsules. Freeze-drying ensures that most of the liver’s nutrients remain intact.

It’s important to note, liver has over five hundred functions, shop from a local farmer that raises grass-fed animals to ensure you are getting the most nutrient clean organ meat for your body.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻𝘀?

The infamous question many people ask. I asked it too.

Yes, one of the jobs of the liver is to filter the blood of all toxins like heavy metals, pesticides, medications(drugs), and alcohol. But here’s the thing, it does not store those toxins. They are excreted in urine, sweat, and stool EXCEPT if the body of the human or animal is extremely burdened by compounding amounts of chemicals from diet, environmental, or medications. If there is too much body burden those toxins have the chance to accumulate in the liver, but are also stored in muscles, adipose tissue, and in other organs.

How does this play out in animals?

۞Conventional raised animals are fed a diet of pesticide sprayed, genetically modified soy and corn based feeds. Some without the chance to see the light of day and graze on grass. In some cases these farmers use antibiotics and growth hormones.

۞Animals solely raised on grass, grass that is free of contamination from heavy metal sources or cross contamination pesticide use by neighboring farms produce organ meat and muscle meat that is safe for us to consume.

What the liver does do is store essential minerals and trace minerals, amino acids, fat and water soluble vitamins for the detoxification and methylation processes that occur in this organ.

One of the fat soluble vitamins essential to our human body is K2. The richest and most bioavailable sources can be acquired through eating animal or animal products raised on grass pastures. Plants contain K1 and the gut flora of animals convert it to K2 . K2 is needed for healthy deposition of calcium for strong bones, healthy fetal development, nerve signaling, and a strong heart. K2 a valuable nutrient you do not get from conventionally raised animals, eggs, or dairy.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻:

Always choose pasture raised animals regardless of what part of the animal you are consuming. And check your boxed food labels for pesticide laden soy and corn. If you don’t want to eat liver because of the toxins you think are in it, think about other toxins that are innocently overlooked in other food products.
