During this hands-on workshop you will take part in a comprehensive training on raising backyard meat birds from start to finish.
Breakdown of what you will learn:
Pros and cons of various broiler varieties for your homestead
Where to source chicks
Vaccination vs no vaccinations
Food quality
Infrastructure
Equipment or options for butchering
How to cull, defeather, eviscerate, and break down a broiler chicken.
There will be plenty of time for questions and conversation during our class.
Each student will go home with their vacuum sealed broiler.
Please come prepared to get dirty. Bring a water bottle and wear old clothing.
This class is for ages 16 and up
